Cercarbono’s 2023 annual report reflects a year of institutional strengthening and international recognition. The standard expanded its carbon programme to 15 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe, with 159 projects registered across nine sectorial scopes. Key milestones include ICROA endorsement, acceptance of Cercarbono credits in the Queretaro carbon market, and a recommendation by CORSIA’s Technical Assessment Board for conditional approval in its first compliance cycle. The report also marks the foundations of the Circular Economy and Biodiversity Programmes, alongside significant advances in governance, methodology review, and double-counting prevention frameworks.
