Official Statement No. 11 – Formation of Ad-Hoc Committee for project review

Following Statement No. 10, Cercarbono announces the formation of an ad-hoc committee, chaired by CEO Alex Saer, to investigate projects linked to media allegations. After reviewing information related to projects by Indigenous Carbon LLC/AFGOR, the committee recommended suspending projects with IDs 138, 140, 141, and 142 as a preventive measure pending documentation of effective community participation and legal ownership. The remaining projects registered by the same developer are subject to ongoing investigation.

Alex has over 20 years of experience in sustainability across the private sector and government. He served as a senior official at Colombia’s Ministry of Environment, where he led the National Circular Economy Strategy and represented the country on the OECD’s Environmental Policy Committee. A Fulbright scholar, he holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Maryland.
