Official Statement No. 14 – Potential overlap and double counting risk in the “Flor de Inírida” project

Cercarbono flags significant concerns regarding a REDD+ project certified in April 2025 by PlanetAI Nature Space covering a declared area of over 3.4 million hectares in Colombia. Geospatial analysis by Cercarbono’s mapping team identified a cartographic inconsistency of more than 1.39 million hectares and potential overlaps with up to eight Cercarbono-certified projects. The statement details the corrective measures taken, including formal notifications to PlanetAI Nature Space, the project developer, the VVB, the registry platform, and the Colombian Ministry of Environment.
