Official Statement No. 1 (Biodiversity Programme) – Extension of the Innovation Phase
Cercarbono announces a one-year extension of the Innovation Phase of its Biodiversity Certification Programme, running from the certification date of the first pilot project (14 August 2025). The phase was launched in March 2024 with the publication of the Protocol, and the first project, Savimbo Biodiversity Putumayo, was certified in August 2025, enabling the issuance of the first Innovation Voluntary Biodiversity Credits (iVBCs). The extension reflects lessons learned from the pilot and the need to develop additional projects across diverse contexts to strengthen the programme’s technical robustness ahead of full implementation.
