Thanks to Cercarbono’s internationally recognised standard, we announce that our certified carbon credits from four projects in Colombia have been chosen for offsetting in the State of Querétaro in Mexico.
This State has implemented a carbon tax which includes an offsetting mechanism with credits from projects implemented in other countries, as long as they meet the State requirements.
Cercarbono’s credits, approved by Querétaro, are registered in the EcoRegistry platform and are part of 4 forest conservation projects located in Colombia: Sustainable Forest Management Applied in Eastern Antioquia Under the BancO2 scheme; Carbono Reforestadora El Guasimo; REDD+ PAZcífico and Grateful Planet with the Indigenous Reservation of Lower Guainía and Río Negro Rivers.
Cercarbono invites all public and private companies and individuals interested in acquiring these carbon credits to carry out the environmental compensation in this State. Cercarbono continues its work addressing the climate crisis through carbon markets, strengthening the standard and its processes, generating confidence in the international market, and promoting and supporting the development of initiatives in different economic sectors worldwide.
