Climate change and its catastrophic consequences are evident across the globe, yet many people still think that this only means living in warmer temperatures.
This is where all actors involved in mitigating and combating climate change must make efforts to educate and raise awareness that global temperature rise is only the beginning of the story, because if we see, the earth is a system in which everything is connected and changes in one region can influence changes in all the others.
As a result of this problem, carbon markets were born and with them different institutional, private and community actors who work every day to meet goals, reduce Greenhouse Gases or generate projects for solutions based on nature or technology.
With the need to contribute to climate solutions, in 2016 an important actor in the global carbon business was born: Cercarbono.
A company that works every day with a professional and trained team to strengthen the processes that derive from the standard; a standard that has a voluntary carbon certification programme, which manages to facilitate and guarantee the registration of Climate Change Mitigation Programmes or Projects, the certification of the emission and the registration of the carbon credits generated by these projects.
Over the years, Cercarbono has managed to grow significantly, highlighting that since 2019, 133 projects in different sectors have been registered, which shows that more actors in the carbon sector trust in this standard.
Also, thanks to the work of our team, today we can say that we have increased emissions to 42.8 million «Carboncer» credits for actions carried out by projects in the land use, energy, waste management, fugitive emissions and manufacturing industry sectors, and 28.15 million have been retired.
Finally, we would like to thank each of our customers, partners and stakeholders who continue to contribute to the fulfilment of commitments related to climate change mitigation on our planet and we assure them that we will continue to work hard to grow and carbon market stabilization.
